Educational Pathways Academy Earns FCIS Accreditation
Educational Pathways Academy is proud to announce that we have earned accreditation through the Florida Council of Independent Schools (FCIS). This marks an important milestone in the school’s continued growth and commitment to providing an exceptional education for students who learn differently.
Founded in 1954, FCIS is Florida’s premier accrediting body for independent schools and is one of only 10 state associations in the United States whose accreditation process is recognized by the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS), an international authority on independent school accreditation.
Earning FCIS accreditation requires schools to undergo a comprehensive evaluation of their programs and practices. Schools are evaluated across key areas of institutional quality, including academic programs, student support, faculty development, leadership, governance, school operations, and long-term sustainability.
For EPA, this process included an extensive self-study and an on-campus evaluation of both our Doris Frey and North campuses by an FCIS accreditation team.
What Accreditation Means for EPA
For our families, accreditation provides added confidence that EPA has been independently evaluated against rigorous standards and demonstrated the quality and integrity of our school. It affirms the strength of the programs and support we provide students and recognizes the dedication and expertise of the teachers and staff who bring our mission to life each day.
Accreditation also strengthens EPA for the future. The process encourages schools to continually reflect on their programs and practices, identify opportunities for growth, and plan thoughtfully for the years ahead. For EPA, that means continuing to strengthen the programs and practices that allow us to serve students with dyslexia and other language-based learning differences in the individualized environment they need to thrive.
A Milestone in EPA’s 10th Year
This achievement comes during an exciting year for Educational Pathways Academy as we celebrate our 10th anniversary.
Since opening our doors to our first students in 2017, EPA has grown from a small school serving 27 students to two campuses serving 140 students. Along the way, we have continued to strengthen our specialized programs, individualized support, and the dedicated team at the heart of our mission. Earning FCIS accreditation recognizes how far EPA has come and provides a strong foundation for the school’s next chapter.
This accomplishment would not have been possible without the dedication of our teachers, staff, leadership, and Board, as well as the trust and support of the families, donors, volunteers, and community partners who have helped shape EPA over the past decade.
Looking Toward the Future
Accreditation is not an endpoint. It reflects EPA’s commitment to continually evaluating and strengthening the education and support we provide our students.
As EPA enters its next decade, we remain firmly rooted in the mission that has guided us from the beginning. We will continue creating pathways for students who learn differently, helping them build confidence in themselves and discover the strengths and abilities they will carry into the future.
We are incredibly proud to celebrate this achievement with our entire EPA community and grateful to everyone who has helped make this milestone possible.
A Decade of Hope. A Future of Possibility.
